Just because you can buy it doesn’t mean it’s good for you. In fact, a typical supermarket is littered with so many death traps its not surprising we have so many health problems. Carbon monoxide atmosphere in our beef? Tripolyphosphate? 90% Sodium death in a can? Cellulose from wood pulp in our shredded cheese? Orange juice that sits in vats for up to a year only to get rehydrated and reflavored to go in a carton?

How’s it going everybody this is beat the bush today we’re going to talk about 7 things that you should watch out for when you buy your groceries at the supermarket the first thing you should know is that your beef products are usually packaged in the carbon monoxide mixture of atmosphere so what they do is they fill the atmosphere up with a little bit of carbon

Monoxide this is the same stuff that comes out of your car exhaust now carbon monoxide binds here hemoglobin in blood so that it cannot absorb any oxygen so if you breathe a lot of carbon monoxide in you’ll start to suffocate but this is how they packaged beef because if they keep the hemoglobins from getting oxygen attached to them they’re going to stay red now

If you introduce carbon monoxide into the atmosphere inside this package that’s sealed now the meat on there is going to stay red and they want this because it’s going to stay fresher it’ll appear to be fresher and people would buy it and more of these would move off their shelf because it looks fresher on the surface this carbon monoxide is probably not going to

Be very good for you because carbon monoxide is a little reactive they put a small percentage of that and you know i cannot find a video on how they packaged meat products with carbon monoxide on youtube i cannot find a video on how they do this so i can only imagine that they filled a chamber you know like a machine with this atmosphere with a little bit of carbon

Monoxide and they put the meat meat on these styrofoam trays and they feed it through and then it gets automatically wrapped or something with the with the saran wrap and that’s that’s how they get delivered to you in the supermarket ever notice when you have two pieces of meat on top of each other and you peel it apart in between the beef you would see that it’s a

Little darker it’s gone going bad faster than the outside all now you know because in between the beef carbon monoxide is not touching it and so it’s not staying red now it’s really hard to find meat that is not packaged so i mean i still eat beef thought like that although i don’t want to if there’s an alternative let me know how to do that and i would gladly you

Know get beef that’s not a carbon monoxide packaged the next thing i’m wondering about is chickens how they got so big when you buy them at the supermarket they’re like really large the thing is the package says that they don’t use hormones in it so they’re not artificially causing them to grow bigger what they do is selective breeding every single single generation

You know they only pick the the fastest-growing ones after several generations they’re only going to have chickens that grow really really fast and so after you know ten twenty thirty forty years of raising chickens they’re only going to have chickens that grow really really fast so in a sense that’s okay because they grow it really big and you know they’re not

Actually using hormones to make them grow bigger so then you’re not actually eating hormones but there’s also the fact of humane nosov making chickens grow so fast and they’re not free-range etc and have really horrible living conditions and such it’s just something to note that you’re not actually eating hormones you’re just eating selectively breeding chickens

That are going really fast the third thing i want to call attention to is these keurig machines that are really bad for their environment mainly because those little pods those single-serve coffee pods thing it has little cup and inside there’s a filter and inside there’s some coffee grounds and on top there’s an aluminum foil that covers the top you put one in

And then you get one cup of coffee after it brews the thing is these little cups are really bad for the environment not to mention that each unit you’re paying about fifty cents a unit you gotta pull it all apart and go okay this is plastic this is aluminum this is filter and no one’s going to do that it’s just surprising to me that in the supermarket there’s this

Whole wall of keurig coffee pods that you can buy it’s just not very consumer friendly the next thing i want to talk about is canned soups now there’s nothing wrong with the canned soup itself it tastes great i used to eat it all the time until i realized how much sodium terms of salt if you look at this picture of a regular can of cream of chicken it actually has

Two and a half servings in it and every serving has 870 milligrams which is 36% of your daily value so with just one sitting of drinking cream of chicken soup from a can you’re getting almost your whole day’s worth of salt and you’re going to be eating other things other than that one can of soup you’re going to have other things that has salt in it so just from

That it’s gonna push you over your salt intake it’s gonna give you health problems and stuff so it’s just another thing that is not good for you to buy at the supermarket and this goes with a lot of the canned soups now you can go for the heart-healthy option where it has low sodium however if you look at the back of the label it’s again 17% for every serving and

There’s two and a half servings per can that means it has about forty two and a half percent of your daily value of salt it’s a little bit better for you but the when i have this i can still feel that there’s a lot of salting now the fifth thing i want to talk about is frozen seafood at the supermarket where they’re in a bag and each one art is individually frozen

And they look great and all you can unbe frost them and cook them and you know it seems like they just froze them and then you’re just unfreezing them to eat the thing is a lot of times they use a chemical called sodium tripolyphosphate and the thing that uses four is to make sure the the seafood retains moisture it’s important because if it retains moisture then

It retains more weight and they can sell it for more money one time i had a bag of seafood that was frozen it wasn’t actually bad or anything but i can actually taste the sodium tripolyphosphate now one test you can do with scallops that has sodium tripolyphosphate in it is that usually it would lose a lot of moisture when you try to pan fry pan sear a scallop i’ve

Done this with this kind of seafood with this kind of preservative in it ends up you know melting a lot and a lot of moisture you know falls off and it becomes this milky-white thing around the scallop and also when you eat it it has this weird weird texture weird taste to it not like fresh scallops however if you put these seafood inside a boiling water and stuff

Like in a soup or something you would notice it a lot less because it’s not concentrated this is great and all that it retains moisture but the problem is for me i’m actually a bit sensitive to these various preservatives and compounds so i would actually notice them when i eat them if you don’t notice them and when you need them and you feel like oh it’s just fine

It does not necessarily mean that is okay just because you don’t notice it i notice it and so i make a big fuss about it but last time i had a bag of scallops i had like two or three scallops and i can taste the sodium tripolyphosphate and i thought it wasn’t too bad i mean i can eat it anyway but after eating that it’s kind of like a buzz feeling you drank maybe

One or two beers i felt like that and i didn’t even drink anything after eating geese kelp so i don’t know what’s wrong with that never had a problem with fresh scallops that’s just another thing to watch out for whenever you buy seafood look in the back for of the ingredients to make sure they’re not using this sodium tripolyphosphate there are seafood that they

Freeze where they don’t use this compound and look for those and you know today i was just at the supermarket and found some scallops i turned it over in the back and i looked at the ingredients it just says scallops nothing else no water nothing else i’m like oh great but then it was kind of expensive it was like 20 bucks for like a bag like this big now sorry i

Am pointing all these crappy things out out of the supermarket but whenever i walk in a supermarket i do see all these products that are not good for you there’s a lot of them majority of the products is pretty terrible for you and people just go buy it very freely and i hope this video reaches a lot of people and you can see that there are hidden ingredients in

There that may not be bad for your health immediately but if you consume it over a long time i’m sure going to take a toll on your body generally what i like to do is i shop on the perimeter of the supermarkets where all the fresh stuff is like all the fresh fruit and vegetables fresh meat i don’t buy any kind of deli meats and stuff any kind of cured stuff just

Everything fresh you can’t go wrong with that the sixth thing i want to let you know about is shredded cheese now if you buy a big block of cheese it’s fine okay but when you buy shredded cheese what happens if you try to shred some cheese and put it in a box it tends to cling together right so the companies they like to add different compounds into your shredded

Cheese so that they don’t stick together next time you buy shredded cheese look on the back and you’ll see a thing called cellulose what the heck is that cellulose it’s just a fancy word for wood now the cellulose they use in this shredded cheese stuff is refined cellulose from wood they do actually use wood pulp to create this cellulose so they take this wood pulp

And they refine it and refine it and then in the end they only have the cellulose left from the wood pulp i mean there’s different kinds of fibers and stuff when you’re eating vegetables it’s also fiber so you might argue well wood is kind of like a vegetable right it’s had that’s kind of like fiber so why can’t i eat cellulose well the thing is we cannot digest

Cellulose um other other things can like termites or something they can digest cellulose but we can and i’ve noticed that sometimes when i eat pizza from the large chains my stomach don’t feel well i made a fresh pizza the other time long one of my other videos and when i ate that nothing fine that’s because i use all the ingredients that are known i use flour yeast

Tomato paste and i use a block of cheese and i shredded that and put it on that nothing i felt great after eating my pizza but definitely not with the commercial fast-food type of pizza and i start to realize that maybe it’s in the cheese because the fast-food main pizza stores when they buy the cheese they don’t actually graded themselves they also buy in a giant

Bag of cheese they just you know pre grade it they just grab some of it sprinkle on top and stuff and so those pregrated cheese also has cellulose in it and it leads me to think that that’s the compound that you know people shouldn’t be eating and yet you are eating it i think the fda limits a certain amount of cellulose in it you cannot put more than a certain

Amount in grated cheese or whatever and i think there’s a controversy a while ago about parmesan cheese if it having way too much cellulose content in it well the thing is i don’t want any cellulose in mind and so the way you can do that is not by grated cheese by the big block and greeted yourself now the seventh and last thing i want to talk about are fruit

Juices and sugary drinks just because it’s a fruit juice it doesn’t mean you should be drinking as much as you can because the fruit juice does contain sugar and it’s just the same sugar that comes out of cane sugar it’s still sugar water and it’s not like eating a fruit or anything because when you eat the fruit it comes with fibers and stuff that’s actually good

For your body but when you drink a fruit juice even 100 percent fruit juice you are actually consuming a lot of sugar water and very easily consuming a lot of sugar in that sense it’s not as good for you and sometimes when you buy orange juice is actually from a concentrate they concentrated so that they can store it and after a really long time you take it back

Out rehydrate it with water and then you know mix in other kinds of flavorings to make it taste like orange juice so you know it always doesn’t quite taste as good as real fresh orange juice and now you know why a lot of times with the lower quality juices it might even contain only 10% juice and they fill the rest up with high fructose corn syrup or sugar and well

That’s just sugar water and do you want to drink sugar water it’s just kind of like drinking water and having you know teaspoons full of sugar and just eating that so i don’t even have to mention about sodas where they’re actually just water pipe rock toes corn syrup or sugar or whatever any kind of sugary stuff and then they just add carbonation in it so really

It’s really good to avoid any kind of sugary drinks because it’s just empty calories it actually adds to your calorie intake and you know makes you fat grows you so if you just take out your sugary drinks it can remove a lot of calories from your diet so i’m making this video hope everybody can you know just draw attention to all these thought bad preservatives
