Doing great and uh thank you for this opportunity hey my pleasure excited to have you on the show and excited to learn more about your company so maybe you can tell us a little bit my first question is about who is marvin siegel tell us a little bit about your background and what is your individual past track record of success maybe touch a little bit on your
Business and entrepreneurial success sure i have been in marketing and sales pretty much my whole life uh from out of high school selling buicks um to uh standing next to my father when qvc went live the very first night as my father is the founder of qvc so i’ve been really following his dna and really trying to start companies and do things that i always
Say that are different unique and better than the competition and i have done this successfully whether i’d been in real estate i was real realtor associate of the year i’m a past president of the builders association the oldest in south jersey actually in the country uh and i also won marketing director of the year for the whole country for the national
Association of homebuilders so whatever i’ve done i’ve tried to do it really well and very detail-oriented i’m also a licensed commercial pilot qualified as a captain in three different jets and i think that gives me this interesting combination of being creative but being very detail oriented at the same time i always say rich when you walk onto a plane and
If you look to the left and you look in the cockpit you see stuff all over the place get off the plane and leave because that’s where you got to be buttoned up i love it i agree with you 100 percent uh congratulations on all of your success you’re obviously a go-getter so how are things going today with the company and what is the role that you will be serving
Well what i want to do is when i spoke to the ceo ceo jim zimbler it was the opportunity to apply what i have been applying for the last couple of years which is what i call content based shopping which is 180 degrees of what qvc is and all tv shopping it’s based on a quick you know you see it you buy it they’re not really kind of being warm and fuzzy per se uh
And i believe the future is about engaging with content using influencers using social media and if you while you’re enjoying the content using technology you can buy or learn more about that product that’s being featured uh way back when i was at shop nbc we did a show with a company called griot’s garage very famous company that does all the car care stuff
For pebble beach and literally what the camera saw i was ahead of my time was available for sale including the paint on the floor that’s uh it’s just a crazy world right now and i agree with you 100 obviously influencer marketing social media advertising it’s blowing up and it’s only going to get bigger so i agree with everything you say there and being an
Influencer myself and putting out content every day we live in a world where content is king it really is i mean look at netflix look at uh roku you know look at companies like roblox you know that are putting up content for kids even to make money uh helping develop games and this is the new world so you have to embrace it i think you really need to embrace
And it seems like you guys are now can you define the problem that your company solves yes when you look at all the brands or companies that are under the emergent health umbrella these are all problem solution products and that makes me feel very good because you’re improving people’s lives and i’m very passionate about one of the companies called pharma
Zoo uh i think that is a total white space owning a little multipoo uh and the problems that i see on social media which drive me crazy that people will post a video of their dog throwing up uh and asking for help because the vets close they don’t know if they should go to the er well farmer zoo is going to solve those problems because it’ll you’ll be able
To absorb the content and then they will be able to sell you the products at the same time but all the products that are on the site not to get ahead of ourselves i want to have it based on content where you can learn so if you’re clicking on a product for weight loss it’s not just a weight loss pill it’ll be a product that actually via content will show you
How to do it properly same thing whether it’s a wrinkle eraser which is obviously very popular but it’s basically how to improve your skin’s health via content and again we will use influencers in this space not just and i don’t want to give anything away yet because the deal’s not signed yet but we have some very very credible people in these spaces that i
I will be phenomenal in my opinion i can’t wait to see who you guys have why is your company’s culture unique well again it’s unique because of especially what i’m going to bring to the table is these will be products that will be studied they will be clinically shown to do what they’re supposed to do and there will be videos again showing how to use the
Product properly and how to do other things to improve your health across the whole emerging health platform what are your key milestones for the next 12 months you know that’s a uh that’s a that’s a great question it is to improve the product lines and the information um that the consumer will see i have already and it’s only been a couple of days i’ve engaged
With a company uh to start to revamp the website i want it to be very video centric um again every time you click on a menu button you don’t just get what i’m going to call a old school drop down menu you get a video telling you what this category is about and what this product does and it will make it very easy to buy while watching the video and or learn
More about the spokesperson about the product and then other products if you want when you want to engage to me that’s the magic and there’s some technology that we’re going to be using that i think will really kind of revolutionize revolutionize what is going on you know when you when you mention influencers before a number of years ago uh when i was even more
Active in the tv shopping space and i a group made a run at one of the tv shopping channels i had a powerpoint slide and in the slide i had every major show host of the shopping channels and my daughter and you may go what’s that about it the crazy thing was my daughter had more social media followers than any show host on any tv shopping channel and if that
Doesn’t tell you where the problem is that’s my point yeah i agree with you 100 we’re living in a new world where essentially any influencer could be bigger than the largest news and broadcast station i mean that’s just the reality so it’s a different world you can now be an influencer just off your phone or off your computer so um i think you’re definitely on
